| Water Lily |
Water Lily- common name for a small family of aquatic flowering plants, and for its representative genue. The family includes 70 species. Its leaves are usually peltate, that is, the leaf stalk (petiole) is attached at the center of the leaf rather than at the edge. The leaves often float on the water's surface, maintaining their position, even if the water rises, by continuing stalk growth, water lilies typically grow in quiet waters covering deep, saturated, oxygen poor soils. Oxygen needed for root growth is supplied by air passages extending down the leaf petioles. Many water lilies are grown as pond ornamentals, and numerous hybrids have been produced. |
| RYL Bags and Accessories |
Starting RYL Bags and Accessories was not very easy at all. Being both novices in the venture is scary enough. With the special assistance and direction of DTI, we were able to pull through. What inspired us is the common saying that "If others can do it, why can't we"! And also, providing a livelihood for the people in Hinigaran is a great thing to do. Reading about great stories of success from other enterpreneurs, who started from humble beginnings, gave me the motivation and great inspiration to become an enterpreneur myself. With great luck and with God's blessings, I came to know and meet Miss Marilou Agnes M. Libo-on (Ness), who played a great role in establishing this venture. Without Ness' creative ideas and great determination, hard work, strong will, and great resourcefulness, nothing could have been accomplished. After an off and on debate as to what the business name will be, and mostly on Ness' insistence, RYL Bags and Accessories, was created. Our factory is located in VINJUANA CAPIROT FARM. It is in Hinigaran, the hometown of Ness. Located 60 kms. South of Bacolod City. It is a perfect place to put up the factory. It is very convenient for the workers, and a good working environment as well. We have enough space for stocking raw materials, finished products, and a place for dyeing and drying raw materials. We were very lucky to have all the support, grace, blessings of the Libo-on family. Mr. Agustin S. Libo-on and Mrs. Mercedes M. Libo-on, are Ness' wonderful, very loving and supportive parents. Ness' brothers and sister helped transform the factory. We chose water lily as our main material for making bags to create something unique and new. And most important of all is that we have an abundant supply of water lilies.
